Advantages
- Alumunium foil can be used to wrap food at very hot temperatures. The plastic, on the other hand, will probably melt and leak.
- Alumunium foil can be used to directly wrap food that is ready to be cooked without having to use other pots or pans. So it can be said that cooking with alumunium foil is simpler, more efficient, and faster.
- Alumunium foil can be used to keep the temperature of the food more stable.
- Alumunium foil is useful for wrapping some foods so that they cook evenly or partially overcooked. You could for example wrap the whole steak so it cook evenly, or you could partially wrap the steak so half of the steak is well done and the other is medium rare.

Disadvantages
- One of the biggest problems with alumunium is the large amount of energy required to make a new alumunium foil.
- Alumunium foil is a disposable product and takes a very long time to degrade. So this makes alumunium foil waste can damage the environment if its use is not controlled.
- Unlike plastic, alumunium foil cannot be wrapped until it is completely airtight.
- When used for cooking, alumunium foil may significantly leach into the food being cooked. Especially foods with a high acid and alcohol content can trigger a very aggressive process that dissolves the alumunium coating into the food.
